Sky Spinner is a master druid who has mastered the art of infusing spiritual energy into elemental constructs and creating simple homunculi that can aid him in his work. These homunculi are typically guardians for his harvesting bed (where he grows casting supplies and feed for his many familiars), but he raises some as defenders and others as assistants that can more comfortably exist out of the water for longer treks than Sky Spinner is willing to take. These homunculi are little more than organic automatons, but he grows attached to them and keeps a record for all those who have perished in his service alongside the familiars who have been released or died in his care. This creates a grim picture, but it's simply a numbers game, and when handling the monsters and dangers of the deep, there is an expected level of attrition that must be accepted.
As a companion, Sky Spinner is a fluid, reactive, problem-solver, always quick with a solution, and sure to have a familiar or servant on hand who can rise to any given task. If not, give him a few days, and he can build a custom homunculus for the needed purpose. He would be a fount of wisdom for a practitioner who has gotten into working with and raising familiars of their own, who has interest in working with thoughtforms or tulpas, and/or who works extensively with animals.
Sky Spinner is looking for someone who deeply appreciates the natural world, both elemental and animal kingdoms. He sees value in everything from the smallest plankton to the largest leviathan, but he also is enmeshed in the natural circle of life and sees death and decay as just another facet of its ceaseless spinning. He is never squeamish and requires at least a willingness to investigate the grimmer aspects of a druid’s work, even if they don’t ultimately incorporate those practices. Ultimately, he is looking for an equally curious mind deeply connected to the natural world with whom he can discuss observations and learning about working with creatures and constructs in service to the natural order.
