ABOUT CHILDREN OF MYTHOS
Children of Mythos are from an alternative version of Earth called Gaia where magic is present in more tangible ways. This results in multiple realms being accessible to humans of Gaia with the know-how to travel and can become physically present within those realms (with some exceptions). Because of this, mingling with supernatural beings is common. Weres, vampires, fae, shifters, and more exist here and many even live on the Earthen realm with humans directly.
Children of Mythos are super powered humans that are blessed by the Gods, Monsters, Heroes, and Mythical Creatures from legends and myths. From the Greeks to the Egyptians, from Celtic lore to Norse mythology, these individuals are often very distantly related by blood to these mythical figures, and historians are often able to trace their bloodlines back to ancient times.
Please keep in mind none of these beings are direct descendants of these mythological figures – meaning they are not the immediate sons, daughters, nieces, or nephews of any given figure. They are more likely to be the great, great, great, many times more great descendants of their mythological figure. Their god, hero, and monstrous powers are heavily watered down, and they should not be treated like they are the mythological figures themselves.
JACKALS OF ANUBIS
The Jackals of Anubis are capable of taking on the form of a jackal-meets-doberman-like hounds capable of standing on two feet. The colour of this form matches whatever their human form’s hair colour is. They are death workers, able to sense the passing of souls and see spirits with ease. They are capable of communicating with ghosts and those who decline working for Anubis often make a modest living as mediums, tea leaf readers, or general occultists.
Those that choose a path that honours their patron deity Anubis act as gathers of souls, bringing them to be weighed to deem their worthiness. Higher ranking priests will often replace Anubis during the observation of the scales with Anubis only appearing for "high profile" souls. Regardless of whether or not they choose to follow their calling for their patron, the Jackals of Anubis make excellent companions for death workers and those curious about mediumship.
As always, like other Children of Mythos, Jackals of Anubis enhance communication with Anubis.
