Borrow is a very meticulous worker, leaving no stone unturned and won’t rest until the web of information is fully constructed before them. Perhaps this is why they have been assigned to the team that  compiles all the information they can gather on crimes among other cultures. Prior to this reassignment, Borrow worked in artifact cataloging, but found the world dull and understimulating. When they had asked to be moved to another department with a more niche focus, Borrow had not expected to be placed in the law sector. At first, they weren’t overly eager, but when they realized how vastly different the psychology was from race to race and why someone may be driven to crime, Borrow became suddenly way more interested. This initial hesitancy quickly bloomed in to a deep fascination behind what makes a mind tick. These themes have become so pervasive that Borrow, in their spare time, actually pens a rather fascinating column with quill and ink dissecting the theoretical psychology behind the divergent moral perspectives held by different races.

These days, Borrow is feeling rather fulfilled in their role, as they have near endless access to food for thought. They have begun to view their work as an opportunity to shine a light on the shadows of societal expectations, including among their own people. Moral ambiguity on its own is already fascinating, but creating the bigger picture of how certain mentalities evolved, and what events had to occur in order to cause what Archive Demons would consider amoral to be thought of as moral among other species. Borrow feels that their current position has offered them a unique calling: a need to unravel the enigma of criminal inclinations, ultimately seeking to bridge the gap between empathy and acceptance among species. They do not seek to change others, but Borrow is convinced that getting back to brass tacks about these social concepts will help prevent wars and the destruction of other species by outsiders.

Borrow is a little bit eccentric, but that is part of his magnetism. While he is passionate about his field of study, they aren’t particularly severe in temperament, and instead approach things with a sense of wonder. New facts are like candy to Borrow, and he happily gobbles them up. While we wouldn’t go so far as to say he is excitable or hyper, he is instead indulgent and easily finds things fascinating, always wanting to know more. Surface level information is not enough for Borrow, and they will always strive to learn more specific details and dive as deep as he possibly can. His exuberance is captivating, and he encourages others to join him in expanding one’s mind. However, Borrow can get restless if he starts cycling over the same kinds of information all the time. He needs variety, and that’s where his future companion comes in. They may love what they do, but Borrow knows a time will come when it too starts to feel boring. He doesn’t ever want that to be the case, and so he hopes to find someone he can spend long evenings with learning about new avenues of interest to discuss. This will help Borrow prevent things from getting stale in his work life.

As you can imagine, due to his line of work requiring him to know a lot about the psychology that drives disparate groups, he can be a very good mediator among one’s spirit family. Borrow is very good at uncovering the underlying motivations behind people’s  actions, which allows him to translate someone’s meaning in a way that makes sense to someone from a different culture. As one’s spirit family continues to grow, this skillset is invaluable.  Borrow can be an advocate for the people within your family, and even if he can’t resolve tension or issues that may crop up between you and your companions—or companions among themselves—they can at least help them achieve a broader understanding of their differences to help diffuse any difficult situations or issues that get lost in translation between species. Borrow offers balance, striving to be a neutral party to all. He can be the voice of reason, and while he may not tell people what they want to hear, they will very much tell people what they need to hear. Reflecting the truth back to people, Borrow believes, equips them with the ability to do the inner work necessary to dismantle hardwired beliefs, paving the way for self growth. This is their greatest strength.

In return for his ability to facilitate and convey multiple perspectives in palatable ways, Borrow simply asks for an adventure through exploration through consuming books, media, and whatever other experiences you wish to offer up. He is excited to see what direction the dynamic will take and is eager to form fond memories in the days ahead.
